Tayla Williams is one of the most recent additions to our Sales team. Having worked across various roles in her time at Autex Acoustics®, she has great experience in our processes and how we operate as a business. This has helped her to hit the ground running in her new role, making for a seamless transition. To get to know her better, we sat down to ask her about her experiences at Autex Acoustics, how she has found her new role, and what makes her who she is. Read what she had to say below:
How long have you worked at Autex Acoustics?
Since June 2020, so three years now. I was supposed to start as an Export Co-Ordinator in April 2020, but then Covid came along and put a stop to that. Thankfully Autex Acoustics thought I’d be a good fit within the company and offered me a position in Customer Support once we came out of lockdown. Although that’s not the role I would have originally picked for myself, I’m so glad I accepted it, as I can’t think of a better position to start in to learn about the business, our products, and our customers.
What does your new role entail?
The internal sales role is like a hybrid of Customer Support and Sales, focusing on giving our trading customers the best possible service, which in turn gives our current Account Managers more time to get out in front of Architects. It’s a win-win for Autex Acoustics and our customers.
What have you enjoyed about the new role?
I’m a solution-focused person, so I love that aspect of the role and being able to help our customers, whether it be proactive or reactive; I love to problem-solve. I’ve also really enjoyed getting to know our customers on a more personal level by being that main point of contact and having that account management relationship with them. Not only that, but I’ve built stronger relationships with the wider Autex Acoustics team. Moving into a new building has meant that I get to see what the Design and Marketing teams do in more detail.
What goals have you set for yourself?
Since the role has only recently been established, my main goal is to give our customers confidence that this structure is truly beneficial to them. On a more personal level, my goal is to continue to grow within Autex Acoustics, gain more product knowledge, and understand the whole process from orders placed to products installed.
What are your five road trip essentials?
1) Snacks
I have an almost 2-year-old daughter, so my number 1 essential is snacks! Lots of them.
2) Comfy clothes
You’re going to be stuck in a car for a while, so you may as well be comfortable.
3) Playlist
I love a good ol’ sing-along playlist on Spotify. When you find one that everyone can get along to, it really helps to pass the time.
4) Sunnies
Most of my road trips are during summer, so these are a necessity. A great way to avoid squinting and hide if you are having a cheeky nap.
5) Taking the scenic route
Going the long way on these trips can offer some great ways to take in the scenery. This also increases your chance of taking pit stops to get food!
What are your five essential tv shows of all time?
1) YOU
This is my current favourite show to watch. After season two I thought, ‘How are they going to create another season without being repetitive?’ but season three was so different and still good.
2) Friends
This is an all-time favourite of mine. It is easy watching and is always on. You can’t go past it.
3) Love Island
As hard as it is to say, this is a guilty pleasure of mine. I hate to say it.
4) After Life
This series always provides a good laugh. Ricky Gervais is so uncensored, and I love it.
5) The OC
This is probably not too high on many people’s top TV series lists, but it brings a lot of nostalgia back for me.
